“dreaming the dark” is a speculative attempt of understanding the human body in its current condition as a digitalised bodymind. Therefore digital technology itself is being deployed to establish a connection between the singular, cognizing subject and a catalogue of mythological visual metaphors. Cognitive impulses are being rendered into visual representations of approximated topoi, in this way establishing a psychotechnological connection between the performers in “dreaming the dark” and the general concepts of a collective subconcioussnes stored in the program. Because the assignment of certain cognitive signals to certain representations is based on the measured data of personal cognitive activities of the artist, users become part of a performance starring themselves, the program and its programmer.

EEG Sensoren wurden genutzt um singuläre, cognitive Verbindungen zwischen mythologisch, visuellen Metaphern in einem Hologram zu manifestieren. Dieses basierte auf einem 3D bodyscan der Künstler*in mit Illustrationen von Carl Jung’s Archetypen „Anima“ und „Animus“.
Die cognitiven Impulse des/der Betrachters/*in wurden in digitale Topoi übersetzt, die dann eine psychotechonologische Beziehung zwischen den Performern und dem kollektiven Unterbewusstsein im Programm herstellen.
